Do you find it difficult to impose your platform on your partners who prefer to use theirs? This blog article is for you! With a different approach that is more respectful of everyone's interests, check out how to avoid the trap of having more than one CDE on a construction project.

It's obvious. The party that chooses the platform has an advantage. It has all the information of the different projects in one place, the project manager does not have to learn a new platform each time and can be better organized.

So, is it the real estate developer who should impose the platform or rather the contractor?

Contractor or real estate developer, in the event of a lack of complete information, will have difficulties assert their rights during a discussion or conflict. Our advice to the real estate developers or the contractors is the same, impose your platform!

The question is rather: how to impose a platform and convince the other partners?

Nowadays, it is indeed more and more complicated! Even if the platform does the job, it remains difficult for the invited partner who wishes to:

-         use own platform / tools

-         avoid manual operations, uploads and downloads that kill productivity

-         avoid data loss

This issue is only increasing as the various players digitize and refine their processes around their tools and their collaborative platform in particular.

Should you therefore accept as a real estate developer (or contractor) to always use another platform? NOPE.

It is now possible to offer the platform without penalizing others who can continue to use their own tools too and secure their access to project data.

And that's where we come in. Cooperlink is a CDE built quite differently. Rather than being designed for the "Host" of the platform, Cooperlink allows the same possibilities to each organization. As on any platform, our client (Host) invites other organizations as a free guest, but unlike a traditional platform, the invited guest can activate services that will boost the productivity of the project manager and eliminate the manual transfers. Cooperlink allows the invited guest to connect the shared project space with their own tools such as SharePoint, a file server, BIM360 and other applications (Letsbuild Aproplan, 12Build ...). This automatic update and consistency between the collaborative platform and the internal tools simply make all the difference. In perfect synchronization, the invited guest has a faithful image of the project in their own tools that the project manager can therefore continue to use. The risk of losing access to data is also gone as data is now in guest's own corporate environment.

Why 'delighting' guest users is so important to YOU?

Classic cloud platforms are becoming difficult to impose on partners and it is time to think of another approach. It is in your interest to offer collaboration solutions that enable your partners. It is this acceptance by your partners and their success that supports your construction project and your digital strategy. Having tools that are good for you but rejected by your partners will do you no good.
